Panel announces public meetings on SaskPower Rate Review

The Saskatchewan Rate Review Panel has announced public meetings as part of its review of SaskPower’s application to adjust its rates.

The public meeting schedule is:

Saskatoon, September 19, Delta Bessborough, 1:30 PM

Regina, October 2, Ramada Hotel, 7:30 PM

Panel Chair Kathy Weber says the Panel welcomes the increase in public participation in recent reviews, and encourages people to participate in the SaskPower review.

“Participants will hear directly from SaskPower about the application, so they have access to information and can express informed opinions as part of the review process,” Weber said.

Weber also noted that people can also download the rate application at the Panel’s website, www.saskratereview.ca.

The public can also submit their comments regarding the application:

  • Email at: [email protected]
  • Voice messaging at: 1-877-368-7075 (Saskatoon 306-934-1948)
  • Postal mail at: P.O. Box 1301, Saskatoon, SK S7K 3N1
  • Website at: www.saskratereview.ca using the “Voice Your Opinion” option

SaskPower has applied for an overall system average increase of 4.9% affecting all but one customer class, to take effect January 2, 2013. The Panel’s mandate is to review rate applications, including both technical review and public input, and submit its recommendations to the provincial government.
