Panel announces review of SaskEnergy Commodity and Delivery Service Rate application
The Saskatchewan Rate Review Panel will review a rate application from SaskEnergy that proposes to lower the Commodity Rate it charges its customers from $3.65 per Gigajoule (GJ) to $2.65/GJ, to take effect April 1, 2019. The application also proposes a 3.7% increase in SaskEnergy’s Delivery Service Rate, also to take effect on April 1, 2019. On an interim basis SaskEnergy has also asked that part of the commodity rate reduction, from $3.65GJ to $2.95GJ, become effective November 1, 2018.
The rate application and other supporting documents will be posted at the Panel’s website, www.saskratereview.ca, as they become available. The Panel welcomes comments or questions from the public using the following options:

All methods of communicating with the Panel, including the date and location of public meetings, will be advertised. The Panel will also commission an independent technical study of the rate application, bringing expert outside opinions to the review. As part of the review the Panel provides the government with an opinion regarding the fairness and reasonableness of the proposed rate request, while balancing the interest of the customer, the Crown corporation and the public. The provincial Cabinet makes the final decision on the rate request.
