Panel announces review of SaskEnergy Delivery and Commodity Rate Adjustment

The Saskatchewan Rate Review Panel will review a rate adjustment from SaskEnergy that proposes to decrease its commodity rate from $4.20 to $3.30 per gigajoule and to increase its delivery service rates by an average of 5%. The combined commodity and delivery service rate adjustments will result in an overall bill decrease of approximately $5.66/month ($68 per year) for the average residential consumer. The proposed rate adjustments are to take effect on October 1, 2023.

The rate adjustment and other supporting documents together will be posted on the Panel’s website, www.saskratereview.ca, as they become available. The Panel welcomes comments or questions from the public using the following options:

All methods of communicating with the Panel, including the date and location of a public meeting, will be promoted. As part of the review, the Panel will provide the Minister for Crown Investments Corporation an opinion regarding the fairness and reasonableness of the proposed rate adjustments, while balancing the interest of the customer, the Crown corporation and the public. The provincial Cabinet makes the final decision on the rate request.

When the review process is completed the Panel’s report will be available for downloading at www.saskratereview.ca.
