The Panel announces preliminary plan for SaskPower rate application
"The Saskatchewan Rate Review Panel has announced a preliminary plan for reviewing the SaskPower rate application that was submitted July 10, requesting a system-wide flat rate increase of 4.9% from all customer classes, except the Contract Rate class.
Panel Chair Kathy Weber says extensive public consultations will be part of the review process, including input through public meetings, email, voice messaging, fax, postal mail and the Panel’s website.
“The details are still being worked out,” Weber stated, “but all methods for communicating with the Panel will be advertised, including the dates, times and locations of public meetings. The Panel is encouraged by the responses received from the public during recently completed reviews and will follow a similar consultation process with the application from SaskPower.”
The Panel also commissions a detailed technical study of the application as part of its review.
The Panel is to deliver its report on SaskPower’s rate application to the Crown Investments Corporation by Monday, November 19th, 2012. SaskPower has requested that the proposed rate change take effect January 1, 2013.
The rate application and other related documents, along with updates regarding public meetings, will be posted at the Panel’s website, www.saskratereview.ca."
